Put new ecu and coil same issue also did the crank sensor. I checked continuity from ecu plug to coil also to crank sensor no breaks. All the fuses are good i checked the fuse under the dash its good. Need some help thanks in advance.

Hi Joe, how are you testing the output of the coil?

It's not likely that your new coil is also bad. Have you checked if you can see spark from the spark plug(s)?

Yeah, it seemed like you were very thorough with testing.

Weird issue you're having. I'm out of ideas. Maybe one of these other guys can chime in.

I’m stumped. When you bought a new ECU it came programmed? Most come blank.

With all those parts replaced I would start checking basics like any and all wire connections and grounds. Also inspect all harnessss closely to make sure there are no breaks or rubs. Keep in mind that breaks can be inside the plastic and not visible upon basic inspection.

We have seen issues with the very small wires coming from the ECU on the older Rangers, like Carl said the wires break inside the sheathing. Also check throttle position sensor, I had one get wet and quit working.

You have done some good troubleshooting.... I'm wondering if it's something with the crank sensor? I would think the engine could run on either one (cam or crank) if one of them failed, but I'm not sure how polaris did it.

I'm not even sure how the coil is signaled to fire. does it just have a positive and ground feeding it? or is there another wire?

Sorry for late reply the ecu was off another bike same with coil. Has 3 wires going to it a positive negative not sure what other one dose. It' wierd I started pulling the cover off all the wires to check for rubbing. Going to check tps there is sand in everything so I've started cleaning all the plugs.
