I'm trying hard to not scratch my windshield but I have to wipe it off all the time. I was thinking if I put rainx on it might wipe off easier.

I use it on my hardcoat windshield. No problems yet.

I would avoid that. It may have been ok on the hard coat, but rain x is not recommended for plastics of any kind. This is from their site:

    • Avoid using Rain‑X® Original Glass Water Repellent on plastic shower doors, glass shower doors with etching or frosting, plexiglass and fiber glass
    • Avoid using Rain‑X® Original Glass Water Repellent on any plastic surfaces, including motorcycle windshields, ATVs and solar panels

I fear if you did this it will damage the windshield by making it cloudy or discolored.

Yes, I use the windshield washer fluid for 3 years.

I have read it will discolor non hard coat and make it cloudy. Don't know about hard coat.

    Use at your own risk.

Glad I didn't try yet, cloudy or scratched is what I am trying to avoid as long as possible

I had no idea about that Ok I am going to try it thanks for the link. I don't care about the water beading I live in a desert but on my truck it makes cleaning the windshield easier

I've been using SC-1 on my windshield and it has worked great. I've recently used Plexus cleaner on my MX goggles and it worked awesome. I got caught in some rain on my quad and if I was rolling over 40mph , I'd turn my head to the side and water just beaded right off. I never needed to wipe them.

I think I'm going to give the Plexus a try on my windshield next.

I get the Rainex for plastic at Walleyworld, not in store very often but easily ordered with free shipping. 5.19 per 12oz spray bottle

Anyone ever tried to wax their hardcoat windshield? I hate having to clean it all the time. Seems like wax would be longer lasting.

RainX for plastic. Yes works just like the regular stuff on glass. Great. Stays on long time.

Try the wax and let us know how it works.

I also use spray on auto wax from Turtlewax, the stuff you spray on and wipe/buff off on my plexiglass windshield. Beads water like rainex. What ever you use just be sure to hose/flush off all the dirt before using wax or rainex (for plastic) on any plastic windshield!
