    2008 Arctic Cat Prowler 650

I just purchased a 2008 Prowler 650 H1 with about 4,500 miles on it. After owning it for 3 days and putting about 30 miles on it the belt exploded inside the housing. Now I cannot get the new belt to stop slipping. I have disassembled the secondary, cleaned all the clutch faces, and inspected everything. I see nothing wrong. The belt sits about 1/8" below the secondary. I'm not sure what to do next. Would Clocking the secondary clutch tighten the belt up? Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Are you sure the secondary is closing all the way? If the belt sets below the secondary and the secondary is fully closed then I would guess you have the wrong belt.

I think it is. I disassembled and there is nothing blocking it.

Well after looking up some info on your prowler it seems the belt does set down in the secondary about 1/8''so that appears to be normal.
you cleaned the primary as well I would assume and checked the one way bearing on the bottom of the primary. you cleaned the faces of the clutches and washed all residue beyond that I'm not sure not up on your machine to help any further hope someone with more history will chime in!

My buddy came over last night and helped me watch the belt with the cover of so I knew exactly what was happening. It's slipping in the primary. We took it off and looked at the rollers and they are more beat up with more flat spots than I realized. I have rollers ordered, should be here by Friday. I'm hoping that's the problem.

I think while I am this far, I'm going to remove the one way bearing also.

So here's the latest update... Got it all back together and went riding Saturday. Here's a list of what I've done:
    ----removed one way bearing
    ---New rollers in primary
---Cleaned all clutch faces W brake clean & scotch brite pad
    ---New belt
    ---Wet clutch faces Look good
----took secondary apart cleaned it up and made sure it was closing

The belt is still slipping. Pretty bad in high, very little in low. I don't know where to go from here. On top of all that, my starter took a shit and I had to be towed home! I'm fed up!
