I know what you mean. I feel the same way about my Ranger.
I am interested in the new X2 like I was with the original Wolverine. I think they are good vehicles and the new one comes closer to what I would need, and they look like they are really good trail rigs from watching the video's.
But then I thought to myself, I will go ride for a while in my 900 Ranger, so I did.
Well, it has turf mode, and it does everything else so well and so smoothly and so comfortably and it too is a really good trail rig for where we ride.
So, the X2 would have to be exceptional in several areas to make me change rides.
But I would still like to check it out on a trail.

Nice looking machine! Looks like they are aiming it at the Polaris General market!

I've been waiting to see if they were going to put the 850 into the R-Spec, just to throw off my decision to get into a Can-am. The only problems with the Wolverine are the price and the top speed. But the top speed is much better than my Honda and is enough to keep up with the group rides. The 700 Wolverine tops out in the 50s and can be programmed to get into the 60s. This should be the same or better.

The more I read about it, the more I like it. The 850 is around 69 hp which is respectable. Reviews indicate the power is outstanding high and low. Only 59” wide which is nice. Would be just over 60 even with wheels and tires. Fit and finish looks great. That plug in gps/diagnostic deal looks sweet too.

I'm liking it a lot too. They'll be in dealers this month and we'll be downstate the weekend of the 20 something. We're going to try and check one out in person.

    10" of travel = none?

Aww, man. It's down to 9" for 2019. I wonder why they changed it.

Yes, and that is the 50" wide RZR. The 60" model is like 12.25" and 13.2".
Even the little Ranger 500 has more travel than the X2/X4 Wolverines. And it has turf mode.

Regardless, I would like to drive one. Maybe it’s the right suspension for the machine..?

Not really the machine, but riding style. But, you can't compare a 50" machine to bigger machines.

I've been watching the Wolverine for a few years and it's a great machine. The 850 engine makes it even better. The travel is plenty.
