This is my first time using a new camera. I can't explain the gear grinding noise you can hear. I assure you the P5 sounds fine.

The snow on this trail is pretty deep. The trail isn't packed down like it appears either. There are short dirt cliffs lining the trail. I probably didn't even need to steer.

At 3:10 we found a downed tree that stopped us and bent the right front rim. It's just bent in at the sidewall, but nothing serious. I do think 4 new wheels and 4 new tires is in order though! We got stopped in the snow a few times after that but got out every time.

It was snug but overall it was a wide trail. I can't make it to the end of at least half of them. Even the little P5 is too fat sometimes. ;)

Ya think? If that's the case then we're making everyone mad in the winter. The snowmobile guys don't like us riding on the groomed trails to get to the 50" trails and I guess the atv guys are mad that we're on the 50" trails. :D

The wife and I sat in a Maverick XC and a Maverick Trail today. She's not a fan of the Trail but she's liking the XC a lot. She also likes the Defender. How are you liking your Can Am?

I like the 50" offering, but I agree... I like that Maverick XC as well. That would be a lot of fun with 101hp. I also like the Commanders. The new ones look sharp.

I got them mixed up. We both like the Maverick XC and the Commander. But the Commander doesn't get the 101 hp engine and it costs more.

We also looked at the Wolverine X4 and it's nice, but expensive.

I'm actually getting used to it. Its a different beast than the 500 so it takes a little time to get the feel of the CVT. I haven't got as much use as I hoped, but riding season is closing in. I'm missing the Honda less and less

It isn't always riding season in NC? It's always riding season in MI.

I'm looking forward to getting something with more speed so I can go on the longer rides with the rest of these guys and I'm pretty sure the Can Am is going to be it. There's even literature sitting on my dining room table. :)

If the 500 could just go 10 mph faster it would be a near perfect machine... that rides like a brick.

Ditto on the brick. The 500 is a very capable, tough SOB. I wish I was able to have keep both, but space and more important money didn't allow that.
I got tired of riding a few hours and feeling like I got my a..s kicked. I rode the crap outta that thing. There's a video on the other forum that someone posted of me tearing into it.
If I had the choice again I'd probably go with the 1000R instead of the 800. Just for the extra punch. But I'm totally happy with the performance of the 800. Its plenty fast
