The UHMW skids are super tough and are slippery. You can slip over rocks and obstacles much easier. The metal is durable, but dents and can also hang you up. I think the are a nice option for us up in Michigan, but a requirement for the mountain riders.

You won't know how to act when you get it all together and go out for a ride. It'll be worlds apart for your old Ranger. Keep the pics coming.

    2019 Polaris General 4

Here is the new HMF rear bumper. This was not even on my build list, but I found a price on Ebay that would have been dumb to pass up. There are a handful of rear bumpers available for these ranging from this one (which I consider mostly cosmetic with a small amount of protection) to bumpers that hang way down to protect the rear end better (and I don't love the looks of). This one is the best looking (in my opinion) and will offer some small level of protection to the tailgate and bed.

Well...the ECU was not sky net :) . I guess I had forgot I sent it to Minnesota to Gilomen Innovations for his General ECU tune. It will add some power, adjust some of the parameters set by Polaris and eliminate some trouble codes that seem to pop up randomly for no reason for some folks. I sent it out and it was back in record time, even with the Thanksgiving holiday. I will report back when I get some seat time on the new tune and report back.

The rear bumper looks close to what I made only round. Will be watching for your thoughts on the ECU. Started to look at heaters last night will be getting one soon so can get it installed.

@Rockin Ronnie The heater is a great upgrade. I don't see how I ever rode without one!

The rear bumper looks great! I'm really counting on you guys to not hit me in the rear end, instead of getting a bumper. :)

    2019 Polaris General 4

I was expecting my tires yesterday, but in a rare fumble by UPS, they will not be here till Monday. So much for my plans of mounting up tires today.
Instead, I got my ecm back in and installed the clutch set up from Dirty Dawg Performance, @DirtyDawgDale.
I won’t divulge too much, but the new tires are a little bigger and quite a bit heavier, so some clutching was in order. Dale does a fantastic job setting these things up for each machine, rider and riding style. I will post up another thread with more clutch details soon.

We need to see this set up with the wheels on it! It should be sharp!

I’m gonna hold off on showing the new wheels and tires on the machine, but here is what I went with.
Tires: Pro Armor Crawler XG. 30x10 R14
Wheels: Raceline Ryno Beadlocks in the gunmetal finish. These wheels are advertised as a 5+2 offset. I did not want to add much width, so these worked perfect.
I will get some pics of the machine with the new set up soon.

New in back, stock in front.

Also, with the tune and tires, burning up $200 belts is not appealing to me, so I will be adding this in when I start doing wiring.
