I am looking for some advice/ guidance. I am looking for my first sxs. I have had ATV's for 20 years. From Banshees to Raptors to 4x4 machines.

I do mostly trail riding and do some pretty good hill climbs on packed dirt and loose shale/coal. I am 6'1" 245 lbs.

I want something that's going to be reliable yet powerful enough to do some hills. Looking for a two passenger machine. I have no brand preference. I do all my own service and repairs.

I'd rather keep the investment smaller as I'm not sure if I'm going to like the SXS over my ATV's. 7k would be alright. I'd go 10k, maybe 12k if that type of machine is definitely worth the upgrade over a cheaper one. No preference on year.

What are some of the machines that I should be looking for? Thank you in advance

First determine if you want a sport or utility machine (like Ranger v Rzr), then look at any width restrictions you may have. That will help narrow the field down a bit. Everyone fits in these things different, so my best advice is to go sit in and if possible test drive a few. You may find the ergonomics are a quick rule out for one or more. You may find things like power, noise level, etc rule others out. The great news is, you are coming in at a great time in terms of selection. All the brands have a ton to offer these days. I have Polaris now, but would not hesitate to get into something else if it were the right machine.

Thank you. I'm looking for a sport machine. I never really thought about sitting in a few different ones but that does make sense!
